History – Medieval Religion & The Crusades Exam

Content audit & planning

• Fill in the SPR column of the content audit up to (but not including) the Black Death
• Highlight / list all RED topics from the content audit (weakest areas)
• Make a short list of 3–5 top priority topics to revise first

Medieval Religion (Unit 2)

• Review class notes and knowledge organiser for Medieval Religion
• Create a summary sheet of key beliefs and church power in medieval times
• Make 5–10 flashcards on key terms (e.g. pope, bishop, priest, tithe, excommunication)
• Practice one “Explain” style exam question on Medieval Religion

The Crusades (Unit 3)

• Review class notes and knowledge organiser for the Crusades
• Create a timeline of the main Crusades and key events
• Make 5–10 flashcards on key people, places and reasons for the Crusades
• Practice one “Why” or “How important” style exam question on the Crusades

Exam revision sheet & independent tasks

• Complete all activities on the exam revision sheet
• Independent: finish and check your content audit (counts as one independent task)
• Independent: choose 1 extra activity (e.g. mind map, extra flashcards, practice question)
• Independent: choose a 2nd extra activity and complete it

Geography – Ecosystems & Assessment 2 Assessment

Assessment focuses on Ecosystems (Unit 2), plus Climate Change, UK and Map Skills.

Deciduous ecosystems

• Create a flashcard with bullet points showing the location of deciduous ecosystems
• Create a flashcard explaining the climate graph (bar = rainfall, line = temperature)
• Write post-it style notes defining: deciduous ecosystem, producer, consumer
• Review the food web for deciduous ecosystems and write what it shows
• List 3 plants and 3 animals in a deciduous ecosystem and their adaptations
• Pick 3 human activities in Richmond Park and make a mind map of how they affect the park
• Create a mind map of 3 ways to manage threats to deciduous ecosystems (with specifics)

Climate change

• Create a flashcard with names of 2 greenhouse gases and their sources
• Add bullet points on the effects of greenhouse gases
• Draw and label a diagram of the greenhouse effect
• Create a mind map or flashcard on impacts of climate change on deciduous ecosystems

UK geography

• Write a list of the 4 countries of the UK and their capital cities
• Memorise main mountain ranges in the UK
• Memorise key rivers in the UK
• Memorise some key cities (London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Oxford)

Map skills

• Review grid references using your notes or BBC Bitesize
• Practice distance questions using scale on maps
• Review common map symbols and their meanings
• Do at least one short practice activity for each: grid references, distance, symbols

Geography resources

• Look through the knowledge organiser for Ecosystems and Climate Change
• Review your exercise book for key diagrams and notes
• Do at least one Seneca assignment or topic session
• Use BBC Bitesize to review any weak topics

Maths – Transition & Assessment Assessment

Transition booklets (core)

• Open the Y7 Transition Booklet and skim all sections
• Open the Y6–Y7 Transition Booklet and skim all sections
• Complete number skills section(s) in the booklets
• Complete fractions / decimals / percentages section(s)
• Complete any algebra / expressions section(s)
• Complete shapes / angles / perimeter / area section(s)
• Complete coordinates / graphs / problem-solving section(s)
• Go back and correct any questions you got wrong

General revision

• Review your class notes for any topics you found hard this term
• Do further practice on Sparx (mixed revision)
• Attempt at least one optional Sparx homework (if you want extra practice) Optional
• Do a short “mock” by picking 10 mixed questions from the booklets

Science – Sparx Science Homework

Sparx Science tasks

• Log in to Sparx Science and check exactly what is set
• Do the first half of the Sparx Science questions
• Finish the remaining Sparx Science questions
• Check your answers and redo any incorrect questions

Light review (optional but helpful)

• Skim your science book for the topics covered in the Sparx homework Optional
• Make 3–5 quick flashcards on any science ideas you keep forgetting Optional
